Ellie, inside Claude

Ellie is Elevate Leadership's coaching library, available as a connector in Claude. This page covers connecting her, what she answers, and what she can and cannot see.

What Ellie does

Ellie searches Elevate's class library and brings back the class that fits the situation you describe, with the part of the transcript that answers you.

She has one tool, search_courses. It reads and it never writes. If Claude asks before each search, that comes from your Claude permission settings, not from Ellie. The library holds 64 classes as of September 2026: the same recorded programme Elevate teaches, on feedback, difficult conversations, running one to ones, managing change, and the rest.

You can describe a situation rather than name a topic. "I have to tell someone their work is not good enough and they think it is fine" is a better question for Ellie than "feedback".

What you need first

WhatWhy
A Claude account that supports connectors Ellie is a connector, so she appears inside Claude rather than on a website of her own.
An Ellie subscription Signing in to Ellie needs one. See what Ellie costs. Elevate Leadership staff sign in with their work address and need no subscription.
The email address you subscribed with Signing in uses the same address, so Ellie knows which subscription is yours.

Connecting Ellie to Claude

  1. In Claude, click Customize in the left-hand menu. On some accounts it's called Settings.
  2. Click Connectors, then Add (top right), then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Ellie and paste this address into the URL box:
https://mcp.elevateleadership.com/mcp/claude
  1. Leave Authentication on Sign in now and OAuth client on Use Claude's published identity, then click Add.
  2. Claude opens Ellie's sign-in. Enter the address you subscribed with, then the 6-digit code we email you, and click Allow. You only do this once.
  3. In the Connectors list, open Ellie and change Needs approval to Always allow, so Claude doesn't stop to ask each time it uses her. If Claude asks for permission in a chat instead, choose Always allow there.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds Ellie once for everyone, under Organization settings, then Connectors. Everyone else then finds her in their own Connectors list and presses Connect.

No email after a few minutes? Check spam, and check it is the address you subscribed with. Only an address with a subscription is sent a code.

Asking her something

Start a new chat and begin with "Use Ellie" so Claude asks her rather than answering on its own. Then describe what is going on. Some questions that work:

  • "Use Ellie: how should I give my team member feedback about their work when they think they're crushing it?"
  • "Use Ellie: I have a meeting with my boss about compensation tomorrow. How should I prepare?"
  • "Use Ellie: one of my team keeps missing deadlines and gets defensive when I raise it."
  • "Use Ellie: I am about to run my first one to one with someone who used to be my peer."

Ellie answers with Elevate's approach to your situation, the part of the class that covers it, and which class it comes from if you want to watch it. When nothing in the library fits, she says so instead of offering the nearest thing.

What Ellie can see

Ellie receives a short search query that Claude writes from your question, and nothing else.

She does not receive your conversation with Claude, your chat history, your uploaded or project files, anything Claude remembers about you, or your name. She cannot ask Claude for them. Claude writes the query, usually a short paraphrase of your question, so details you put in your question can end up in it. Ellie uses the query to search and does not save it. What she sends back is a class and a piece of its transcript.

What Claude then does with its own memory of you while writing the reply is Claude's behaviour and happens on Claude's side, not Ellie's.

We keep your email address and subscription details so you can sign in and so we can bill you. We keep no logs of what you ask Ellie.

The Ellie Privacy Notice is the full account.

What Ellie does not do

  • She does not change anything, anywhere. There is nothing she can delete, send or post.
  • She does not know your organisation's own data. She knows Elevate's classes.
  • She does not remember your previous questions. Each one is answered on its own.
  • She does not play video. She names the class and points at it; watching happens in Elevate's library.
  • She will not invent a class. If the library does not cover your situation, she says so.

When something goes wrong

Claude says it cannot reach Ellie

Check the address above character for character, including /mcp/claude at the end. If it is right and Claude still cannot reach her, remove the connector and add it again.

Nothing happens when you press Connect

The sign-in opens in a popup. A browser blocking popups will stop it silently. Allow popups for claude.ai and press Connect again.

Sign-in says there is no subscription on that address

Sign in with the address on your receipt. If you subscribed with a work address and are signed in to Claude with a personal one, Ellie goes by the address you give her at sign-in, not the one on your Claude account.

Ellie stops answering and she was working yesterday

Usually a subscription that has lapsed or a card that has expired. Your receipt email has a link to your billing.

She brings back a class that is not what you meant

Say more about the situation rather than fewer words. Ellie matches on what you describe, so "my report went quiet after I gave them feedback" finds more than "feedback".

Email hello@elevateleadership.com, or reply to the email receipt for your subscription. Tell us what you asked and what came back, which is usually enough to find the problem.
